“He should be very worried”: Trump’s warning puts Iran back in the spotlight.

Relations between the United States and Iran have become strained again after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to the Tehran regime and, in particular, to the Iranian Supreme Leader. According to the president, any attempt to revive or advance the Iranian nuclear program will be met with a “forceful” response from Washington.

Speaking to reporters, Trump stated that Iran's Supreme Leader “should be very concerned” about the possibility of his government once again defying international commitments related to nuclear development. The president emphasized that his administration will not allow Tehran to get closer to obtaining nuclear weapons, considering that this would represent a direct threat to regional stability and global security.

“The Iranian regime knows perfectly well what the consequences are,” Trump said, while reiterating his policy of maximum pressure. The White House maintains that the United States keeps all options on the table, including tougher economic sanctions and eventual diplomatic or military actions, if the situation requires it.

These statements come amid growing international concern over Iran's nuclear activities and the weakening of the control mechanisms established in previous agreements. U.S. officials maintain that Tehran has sent ambiguous signals about its willingness to limit its program, which has generated distrust among its Western allies.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have rejected Washington's warnings and accused the United States of acting with “threats and provocations.” The Iranian government insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, although these claims are questioned by various international organizations.

Analysts point out that this new verbal exchange could deepen the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, a region already marked by conflicts and strategic rivalries. The international community is closely watching the next moves of both powers, while fears are growing that the rhetorical confrontation could lead to concrete actions with unpredictable consequences.
