The American president assured that his country is managing all of the intercepted crude oil and again referred to the secret weapon used to capture Maduro. He also expressed confidence that he will obtain "everything necessary" from Greenland.

US President Donald Trump declared that his country controls the Venezuelan oil seized from at least seven ships and that the crude oil is already being processed in US refineries, as he stated in an interview with The New York Post published this Saturday.

“The oil is going to refineries in Houston, in various places. To put it mildly, they don't have any oil. We took the oil,” the president said in the interview with the New York newspaper.

Trump assured that the US government is managing all of the intercepted Venezuelan crude oil.

“Venezuela will get some and we will get some. Then the big oil companies will come in and we will take so much oil that Venezuela will make more money than it has ever made,” the head of state affirmed.

The US president also mentioned the Nobel Peace Prize medal given to him by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, which he keeps in the Oval Office.

“The Disruptor” to capture Maduro

In the same interview, Trump detailed that during the military incursion in Caracas on January 3, a new-generation weapon, called “the Disruptor,” was used to capture the former dictator of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

According to the president, this device neutralized Venezuelan defense systems by preventing enemy equipment from functioning during the operation. “The Disruptor. I'm not allowed to talk about it. I would love to,” he declared.

Trump explained that the Russian and Chinese rockets present in Venezuelan territory could not be activated during the military intervention. “We went in, they pushed the buttons, nothing worked,” he recounted.

Later, he emphasized the bilateral relationship with the interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez. “We have a great relationship with the new president. She has been fantastic,” he assured the American newspaper. Trump maintained that the US will obtain everything it needs from Greenland.

In the same conversation with The New York Post, Donald Trump expressed his confidence in securing “everything necessary” for the strategic incorporation of Greenland, despite the rejection from local and European authorities.

The president avoided specifying details about the “framework agreement” reached that week with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, although he mentioned the possibility of obtaining control of the territory surrounding the Pituffik military base and other enclaves considered to be of interest.

Sources close to the US administration, cited by The New York Post, compared the proposed scheme to the model currently in place in Cyprus, where British bases are considered sovereign territory of the United Kingdom. The main obstacle identified lies in a potential declaration of independence by Greenland, which could invalidate any agreement reached.

During the interview, Trump expressed optimism about the progress of the negotiations: “We’ll get everything we want. We have interesting conversations underway.” The president linked the status of the Pituffik base to the development of the framework agreement and emphasized that any progress would benefit both the United States and Europe.

“When we’re doing well, they’re doing well, and if we’re not doing well, that’s not very good for them,” he said.
